一 |     (ECNS) -- A new fast-track service for international passengers eligible for 24-hour direct transit without border inspection formalities has officially opened at Haikou Meilan International Airport in south China’s Hainan Province, the airport announced on Monday.    Introduced in line with the National Immigration Administration’s policy on border-inspection exemptions for 24-hour direct transit passengers, the fast-track system combines automatic document recognition, boarding-pass scanning, and facial recognition technology. It allows eligible travelers to complete data collection and compliance checks more efficiently, significantly reducing transfer waiting times. Manual inspection lanes remain available for passengers with special needs.    As of Monday, the airport had introduced through-check-in services for a range of destinations, including Hong Kong, Macao, Auckland, Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Jakarta, Dubai, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, and Melbourne.    Haikou Meilan International Airport said it will continue working with airlines and border inspection authorities to expand international interline services, allowing more transit passengers to benefit from the 24-hour direct transit exemption policy.    (By Xu Wenda, Zhang Dongfang)                        。    (ECNS) -- The China National Tourist Office in Tokyo promoted the Chinese cultural and tourism sector at the "World Tour Summer Fair 2026," held in Sapporo, Hokkaido, from Saturday to Sunday.        During the event, the office held a tourism information session for local residents titled "Nihao! China — Starting from Hokkaido, Explore China."    At the booth, the office distributed the latest editions of Chinese travel guides and tourist maps, and organized interactive lucky draws. Visitors were encouraged to follow the office's official social media accounts and scan QR codes to access digital travel brochures.    The information session began with a systematic introduction to China's policies and services designed to facilitate travel for foreign visitors. The office then highlighted tourism resources in Beijing and Shanghai, with a focus on direct flight routes from Sapporo's New Chitose Airport to China.        For Beijing, the presentation covered practical travel services, including entry procedures, subway travel and tax refunds for departing visitors, as well as cultural experiences popular among overseas tourists. For Shanghai, the office promoted classic itineraries such as the Bund historical area and water towns, along with a new Shanghai Disney Resort package recently launched on Japanese online travel platforms, giving individual and family travelers more options.    The office also introduced the "Jingdezhen Handmade Porcelain Industry Heritage," which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2026.    Known as the "Porcelain Capital" for its centuries-old ceramic tradition, Jingdezhen offers heritage sites and pottery-making experiences that highlight the connection between traditional culture and modern tourism.    (By Tang Yuxian)                    。
